 EDITORIAL

a short introduction to my editorial work

Over the past few years I have had the privilege of working on the music of many eminently talented composers as an editor, engraver, typesetter, and proofreader, offering music preparation services for performance and publication, digitally and in print.  This is work which demands a genuine commitment to understanding each piece of music on its own terms, getting inside the mind of the composer and working with them to ensure the notation communicates their musical intent as clearly and concisely as possible.

I trained with Elaine Gould and Robert Summers working in the New Music Editorial department at Faber Music from 2019-22 , and since 2023 have been active as a freelance copyist, editor, engraver, and orchestrator,  continuing to work regularly with Faber Music as well as for other independent composers and publishers.  To date this has involved working on the music of a wide variety of composers including: Thomas Adès, Julian Anderson, Tom Coult, Tansy Davies, Jonny Greenwood,  Lisa Illean, Oliver Leith, Colin Matthews, Alex Paxton, Arlene Sierra, Martin Suckling, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and John Woolrich.
